At its heart is the familiar single-channel, all-valve 2203 architecture, but with Marshall's additional \u003cb\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBeast\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e circuit built directly into the amplifier.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEngaging \u003cb\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Beast\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e brings in the 2203KK's additional gain circuitry together with the \u003cb\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAssault\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e and \u003cb\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGate\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e controls. Assault allows the low-end response to be increased for a heavier, more aggressive feel, while the built-in noise gate helps keep high-gain playing tight and controlled. With The Beast disengaged, the amplifier returns to a much more traditional JCM800-style signal path.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt's a clever design because the 2203KK isn't simply a one-dimensional metal amp. There's still that familiar Marshall 2203 character underneath — tight lows, aggressive upper mids, huge attack and exceptional dynamics — with the additional circuitry available when considerably more aggression is required.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis particular example dates from \u003cb\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e2010\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e and is in \u003cb\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eexcellent cosmetic condition\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e, with the black elephant-grain covering, grille cloth, gold control panel and distinctive Kerry King graphics all presenting extremely well.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eInternally, the amplifier is very clean and is currently fitted with a quartet of \u003cb\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eJJ KT88 power valves\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e, together with JJ preamp valves.
